SECTION 05 — THE EXPERIENCE

What
to expect.

From the moment you walk through the studio door to the moment you receive your edited images two weeks later — here's the whole shape of a VAMP shoot.

SHOOT DAY

A typical day at VAMP.

10:00 — ARRIVAL

Coffee & consultation.

You'll be the only client in the studio. We'll have a drink and walk through the shoot together — your styling, the looks you want, anything you want to flag.

10:30 — STYLING

Hair and makeup.

1–2 hours of professional hair and makeup. You sit, relax, drink coffee, and slowly turn into someone who looks unreasonably good.

12:00 — WARDROBE

Pulling looks.

Together, we choose your outfits from the studio wardrobe. Boudoir, pin up, rock chick — mix and match across your shoot or commit fully to one aesthetic.

12:45 — SHOOTING

Lights, sets, you.

Onto the set. The female photographer talks you through every pose, every expression. You'll never wonder where to look or what to do with your hands.

14:00 — SWITCH

Outfit and set change.

Quick break, fresh look, makeup adjusted, new set built. Classic and Deluxe sessions go through this two or four times depending on the package.

FINISH — WRAP

Done. Sit down. Glow.

Quick review of the shots, sign-off on which images to retouch. Two weeks later your edited images land in your inbox via hi-res download.

PREP

What to bring.

You don't need much. Show up clean, hydrated, with your nails done if you want them in shot, and a clear idea of what you want from the day. Everything else is here.

Bring if you want:

  • + A favourite outfit of your own (optional)
  • + A specific reference image you like
  • + Personal jewellery / wedding band if relevant
  • + A water bottle, snacks if you want
  • + Friend / partner for support (we have a lounge for them)

We supply:

  • + All lingerie, corsets, gowns, outerwear (UK 6–26)
  • + Pro hair tools, extensions, accessories
  • + Makeup including false lashes (yours to keep)
  • + Drinks, snacks, biscuits
QUESTIONS

Things people always ask.

Not even slightly. Most VAMP clients have never done anything like this. The female photographer guides you through every single pose and expression — chin down, weight back, breathe out, look there. You won't go a moment wondering what to do with yourself. Camera-shy people leave looking like they do this for a living.
Most outfits run from UK 6 to 26. Bras from 32A to 44G. We carry boudoir, pin up and rock chick styles, plus shoes in various sizes, accessories, gloves, jewellery, harnesses, and a stack of props. You can mix aesthetics across one shoot or stay in one lane.
Only if you say yes. Some clients love being on the gallery, some don't. We never share images without explicit permission, and the answer is always reversible — you can decide after seeing the results, not before.
Please do. VAMP is built around alternative aesthetics. We light tattoos to look incredible rather than retouching them out. Coloured hair photographs beautifully under our lighting setup. Bring your full self.
Yes. The studio has a separate lounge with sofas, drinks and Wi-Fi where they can wait while you shoot. We just ask they bring a book or phone — your shoot has your full attention from us, not theirs.
About two weeks. Every image is hand-retouched by the photographer herself. Expert retouching takes time and we don't rush it. You'll receive a hi-res download with both colour and black-and-white versions of every edited image, plus all the best unedited shots.
Anything personal: print them, frame them, hang them, send them, keep them locked in a drawer. You can order canvas prints, photo books, mugs, t-shirts — whatever. The only rule: they can't be sold commercially without our written permission. Just ask if you're not sure.
Easiest way: send a message via the contact form telling us which package and your preferred date(s). Or call 0121 227 5028. A 50% deposit secures your slot; the remainder is due on the day. Payment plans available for Classic and Deluxe.
Yes. A VAMP shoot makes an excellent birthday, anniversary, or "you deserve this" present. Vouchers are available for any package. Get in touch and we'll sort it.
Usually 4–8 weeks. Weekends fill faster than weekdays. We sometimes have last-minute slots when clients reschedule, so it's worth asking even if your date is close.

By train

We're a mile from Birmingham New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill stations. Direct trains from London Euston in 1h 20m. From Manchester, around 1h 40m.

By taxi from New Street

Around £6 in a black cab, £3.50 in an Uber. Five minutes outside rush hour, fifteen during.

Parking

Jewellery Quarter Multi-Storey on Vyse Street (B18 6LP) is 2 minutes' walk from us. £2.20 for 3 hours, £4 for 6 hours.

Flying in

Birmingham International Airport is a £20 Uber away (30–60 min depending on traffic). Or train from Birmingham International to New Street takes 10 minutes.

The exact studio address is included in your booking confirmation once your deposit is paid — we don't list it publicly to protect client privacy and shoot security. You'll receive full directions, parking notes and a map at confirmation stage.
